Welcome to a secret not-so-secret place for some of my older work, sketches, notes, wip, and other random bits. A few may have adult or non-conformist themes either intentionally or by accident. Have fun!

 A new informal "About"

late March, 2026

I started doing arts things when I was a kid, as far back as I can remember almost. I wrote little stories, drew, painted, sang, danced... So I was put into all kinds of classes pretty early on. Sometimes the things I enjoyed the most were not what I was "best" at. Maybe you can relate.

Anyway, as far as visual art goes, I mostly drew. That was a big part of my life through high school, actually, when it went beyond just awards and into t-shirts for myself and friends which I did by hand or took to the screen printer at the nearby strip mall. This was in the early 1980s. After I left home and moved in with my artist boyfriend, I stopped making visual art because I thought he was so much better than me. Sad, but you know how it is sometimes. My creativity went on, but not in that form.

In high school also around the time I ventured from the fam to the bigger world.

In fact, I did not get majorly back into any kind of visual arts until the early 2000s, I think it was, when I started using my Dad's old film camera to photograph my time living in Sedona, AZ. It's gorgeous there and I loved recording a lot of the natural beauty. I also had a ball making a few masquerade costumes there. Then back in NC about 2008, I started making very short films and getting accepted to film festivals and other events. This was a great period for me and I was able to travel to CA for a huge low-budget film fest and party that went on for days! Two of my shorts screened there, and over the next few years I had work shown around the US and Europe. < It was super exciting. :p >

An image from early 2020s that did pretty well on Unsplash.

Art stopped again and then started again around 2020 with more photography, this time digital using my pink Casio Exilim (from 2007 maybe) that I still had around. In 2023 I got into doing abstracts using a random ICM technique, and I really enjoyed that. I did a couple of paintings and collages. And then after I left the US in 2024, I looked back over what I'd done before, started a website, wrote a CV, and hesitantly started taking photos and drawing again and eventually painting. A lot of the rest you can see here, and there's loads of photos that I still have not put up online.

What's your art story or part of it? I'm sure people would love to hear it. :)

Business card I made up back when I was screening micro/short films at festivals and such. I would pack it in my entry mailings. It was almost all burn-it-to-cd situation back then. 2009ish.

Fun, strange, hard times in high school were punktuated with things like this. Little drawings I made for what we called an underground newspaper. Photocopies for 35 cents each!

A really fun but frantic, very detail-oriented project, 2008. Sometimes not knowing what you are doing is a great thing! People liked it, I was happy. :D
