2023 ICM Project
This is a photography project or series that happened around 2023 while living in Arizona. I still had my Casio Exilim digital camera from about 2008, and it still worked pretty well. For these images, I used a random ICM (intentional camera movement) technique in which I would look for shapes, colors, or lights that I learned might produce interesting results and then spin, rotate, or otherwise move the camera with the shutter open. With experimentation, I learned which settings to use that gave me looks that I liked.
After taking some photos, I would go through and choose based on composition and form and then sometimes apply manual color, saturation, and other edits on my computer until I was happy or it felt right in some way. I ended up with a mere fraction of my total attempts. But that's how this type of creativity works, at least for me. Here are some of the images that I still have.
